Unexplainable Joy

Dear Faithful World Changers,

This month has been a whirlwind of new transitions for our family! Here’s the latest update. First off, our kiddos are doing great! Although they really miss their cousins, they continue to smile, laugh and be their normal-cheerful selves. They continue to do school(skipping their 2nd summer break in a row). Ella’s school curriculum is still missing and the airlines haven’t given us much hope that it will ever be found, but no worries. We’ve been advised great resources that keep Ella’s mind occupied and challenged with her current level of education. We had also made some schedule adjustments for the kids and we have been encouraging them to stick to a strict daily flow in order to complete extra lessons on top of what they normally do. We are transitioning school year to begin right after we receive our shipment barrels (in 1 month) and finish the school year off before coming to visit the states fall of 2020. They are such great troopers!

A little update on our Vehicle: Our Land Cruiser is such a testimony of the goodness of our God to our family. It’s through all of you reading this post that God had inspired to give which made it possible to have the finances to purchase this reliable car. Living in a 3rd world continent, corruption is quite common. Our cruiser arrived in South Africa early May, and 3 days or so later was transported a short distance to customs in Churundu. Unfortunately in that short time span, a few things went missing from our vehicle. Andrey went up to Lusaka to pick up our work permits and then to Churundu(South Africa) to check to see if there was a way to see the car and find out why it was taking so long to pass inspections. When he got the chance to see it, he was able to identify some problems. Four of our catalytic converters were damaged, our battery was completely dead, our spare key missing, as well as a few tools from the jack tool box. Once they were able to jump start the car, the noise the car made sounded like one from a tractor.

*We have filed the necessary claims/reports and sent them to the dispatching & insurance company, so now we wait & pray 🙂

Game plan: Andrey is currently on his way back to Churudu because we’ve received word that the car has cleared customs and is ready for pick up. Kyle (friend and ministry partner) and Andrey packed a battery and tools to make sure that the car is in drivable condition before they pull it out from customs parking lot. Praise God for men who know what they are doing! Regardless, we will not allow discouragement to settle in. Discouragement isn’t a part of the identity Christ has given us, therefore we choose to be joyful even when things go south. Our God is faithful, and what the enemy meant for bad, God is turning it around for our good. Why? because we are loved, and highly favored. Because the enemy lost, and he knows it. Because when the Lord gives you a mission, not a devil in hell can stop you from completing it.

I challenge you dear faithful ministers of the gospel, what ever season you are going through, be strong and courageous! The Lord is for you and not against you. He will bring into completion that which He’s started! Andrey and I felt/feel that this is all completely out of our natural ability, but thank God we have the Holy Spirit who not only brings us into a place of rest in our spirit, but Joy! I say it all the time and I’ll say it again, the Joy of the Lord is yours(and my) strength! So rejoice friends!

I had a really great opportunity to go minister with two of my friends recently in town.

Every week, these lovely ladies meet in an expats home where we worship, study the word, minister through prayer, crochet and fellowship over some lunch. What is significant about this group of ladies is that they work in a local brothel on a daily basis. They sell their bodies to men on demand and thats the way life has been for most of them since they were little. Abused physically, emotionally, and spiritually. My heart broke for these women as we pulled in to pick them up from their apartment homes. They had smiles on their faces when they saw the three of us, and even made us laugh. I tried to hide my puzzled look from shock, but I’m sure it seeped through. I’m very grateful for the lives that have invested nearly 2 years into ministering to these beautiful ladies. There were several lives that were set free from this lifestyle and were able (with the help of our team) find their talents in either baking/cooking or creating things with their hands to sell…all because some one said “I’ll go”. It takes the heart of Jesus to come in, pick up these broken pieces and direct their hearts to the One whose died for their sins even before they made them. This is our Lord. This is the very heart of God. When we were saying our goodbyes as we dropped them back off, one of the ladies said to me “see you next week”…should I sob now or later? I’ll be going back this Wednesday, and I can not wait! Please pray that these women meet Jesus in a radical way…something tells me that this Wednesday will be especially powerful!
