Seasons Change

The song by United Pursuit comes to mind, “though the seasons change, your love remains, your love remains…”

Seasons of excitement, seasons of sorrow, and seasons where you feel the Lord is molding you-although painful, yet beneficial because humbleness, meekness and obedience is very much so like Jesus’ image was portrayed here on earth many years ago.

This months weeks were filled with sweat, building of grit and a whole lot of prayer. I can’t leave out the JOY of the Lord because honestly in difficult situations that we face here on some days, His Joy is what carries us thru and leaves us in peace. Knowing, and being known by the true King and Father.

I wish I could draw a picture for you of how I see His heart for you and for the nations of this world. It’s so vast, so explicit, yet so gentle and loving.

This month, Andrey and I celebrated our 12 years of marriage. As we sat across each other over a meal, just the two of us, we looked back at the time we said our vows and marveled at the thought of knowing our future would lead us here…on the other side of the world and in a nation that doesn’t speak good english. We didn’t know in those moments but our lives were sold out for the gospel even then. Im very excited to be sharing all that takes place here with you…

Here are some updates from the most recent happenings:

This month included some unique ministry opportunities like to the queens which our team mates Rachel and Sekelani have been actively working with through out the month. Tessa and I were able to minister to the ladies that accompany the queens with a powerful message of identity as well as minister to them personally as the leading of the Holy Spirit allowed us to do so. Women were touched, edified and I believe changed as they walked away filled with the Spirit of God that began residing in them!

Chanje is doing well and growing rapidly not only in number, but in spirit. They are asking more in depth questions, praying for one another, and putting their faith into action. The numbers in children’s ministry as well as literacy classes are growing each week! We have more people joining and are hearing the word being preached as well as becoming closer to picking up the bible and beginning to read!

We’ve been so blessed to make new friends here with the large population of zambian/indian ppl group. Some have been here in Chipata for 6 or 7 generations! They are so kind and go out of their way to offer you assistance, we hope that we are a blessing to them as they are to us. Here are a few pictures of our friends teaching me how to make naan bread from scratch! (I’ve attempted to add several pictures, but they are failing to upload)

Our Children are healthy, joyful and very excited to be in Lusaka(the capital city of Zambia) this week. A change of scenery helps them(and us) feel a bit more rejuvenated for what the next few months hold here in Zambia. If you follow us on instagram(yana.gorlachev), you will find silly pictures of smiling children with possible ice cream cones and lattes in hand(latte being mine) lol. It’s not all fun and games though as we have an several appointments scheduled. The U.S. Embassy being one, a visit to the dentists office for our pearly whites(we managed this month to loose and chip some teeth). What a productive, yet relaxing trip we’ve had! As we pack our things up to head home, we are filled with such joy to return to ministry, see our team again, and our sweet friends. Our kids are mostly excited to see our dogs lol.

We spent our first thanksgiving away from family in Lusaka and I have to admit, it was a bitter and yet sweet holiday. Managing to call via Viber and simply have some interaction with the gathered family was heart warming(even if it was for a short time). The price that is paid is nothing in comparison to the price HE paid for us to be reunited with the Father once again. Counting the cost is something you must do before stepping out into the field because when times get tough, you’ll need to look back and draw from the foundation you’ve placed your feet on, otherwise, you will find yourself purchasing a one way ticket back home. We are so thankful and grateful to our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ for giving us a plan and a purpose to fulfill our calling here on earth. We are grateful for the Holy Spirit that leads and guides us every single day and we are so grateful for you faithful partners! Thank you to each of you who sow into us through your fervent prayers and finances. The Kingdom of God is the very best place you can invest into, the reward is abundant here on earth and in heaven. May your homes be abundantly blessed, shielded, given divine health, and ever so prosperous in Jesus name! When your about the Fathers business, you better believe that He’s bout yours!
