Beyond Blessed

Can I get an amen?! Wow, what a month it’s been since I last posted in May. I’ll attempt to give you a shorter version summary of this months happenings because it’s been quite the adventure.

Our dear and faithful world changers, if you’ve ever experienced the term “go with the flow” you’ll understand that it’s the only way to go when your led by the Spirit. Last time I sat down to write an update to you all, our family was in another country facing many uncertainties for the next several days/weeks/months. With that said, God has never brought us into a place where He just left us “hanging” to figure out what to do next, but as we rely on His next move He always manages to bring us through. His ways are always higher, wiser, and on-time.

As we sat in an airbnb in the main city of Zambia with our family for “possible” flight options, our little one was experiencing on and off fevers due to what we think was malaria. Talk about bad timing ehh? This wasn’t and will not be our first rodeo with children feeling ill in the most inconvenient times of our lives, so we guarded our hearts from discouragement and continued to do what we have learned along this path, listen and obey. With the pandemic flooding the world with fear and panic, we remained under the radar by giving Moses Motrin and went ahead and started him on malaria meds. In order to enter into a public place, you must have your temperature checked, mask and wash your hands by the door. We weren’t going to risk being put into a government facility to be quarantined for the next two weeks! What a relief and joy it was when Moses broke his fever on the third day (and the night before we flew out) without any pain meds! I think all the mommas can relate onto how that feels:) Wheew!

Saturday morning of May 23rd, we walked into an empty airport with 2 flights on the board…we were flying to the states and it felt so unreal. Boarding the first plane, we noticed that half of the aircraft was completely empty…so wild. Our first leg of the flight was a stop thru Ethiopia following the second leg to Ireland for a fuel stop following the final long haul into Washington D.C. where we would then rent a car and drive down to Jacksonville, FL. Total flight time being around 23 hours. The Lord has blessed us with some great travelers and our kids did remarkably well! The long flights and going through multiple (and pointless if I might add) security check points that made us all remove shoes, laptops, and everything else under the kitchen sink several times in the same airport and biggest of all points to mention- no working television screens the entire duration of our flights (possibly relating to covid???)

Finally we landed in Washington D.C. the following morning and grabbed our rental, packed it up to the brim and headed towards the Sunshine state. We stopped minimally as our ETA was 11pm that same evening. On the way, we called one of our brothers and surprised them that we were in the states. Up to this point, the only people who knew we were coming were Andrey’s parents (since we were staying with them for the next several months). We asked my brother and sister if they could quickly come up with a plan to gather the family the following day and we would pop in and crash the party with surprising all of them. There maybe some of you who don’t follow our family stories on instagram where we have our most recent updates, you can do so @ yana.gorlachev and watch the video my sister Alyonka recorded of our surprise (go to my profile highlights)…it makes me tear up every time! What a reunion that was!! I also want to make a side note that the reason we make videos or post pictures on our page isn’t for publicity of any kind (we don’t care for any of that because everything we do is to the glory of God) but to encourage the body of Christ and excite the body for what He is doing around the world. We don’t care for followers, likes, or even comments. If it inspires you, Praise God! May that be a launching pad to grow closer to Him, His presence, and follow His leading in your life. THE END.

The following several weeks have been filled with late night laughter over tea with family and friends, sharing the heart of Jesus and what He has been speaking to us most recently. We’ve shared stories of our adventures in Africa, testimonies of healings, deliverances, baptisms and friends we’ve made along the way. Most of you we haven’t even been able to catch up with quite yet, but will do so soon! There are so many of you and we can’t wait to make some time to spend a morning cup of coffee, lunch break, or dinner with each of you individually. Each and every one of you are such an important part of what God is doing in Chipata, Zambia and need to hear what your prayers and finances are doing there! I can not believe that 4 weeks have already passed by since arriving here in the states, time is flying!

On that note, our family is a few weeks away from welcoming baby girl into the world! Our little one will be the perfect puzzle to our complete 7 member G-clan lol. Last weekend, my sweet sisters threw us a baby shower and I can’t begin to tell you how incredible honored, humbled, and thankful we are for all of you who came and blessed us with kind words, gifts and your very presence was so beautiful. Andrey and I are overwhelmed with all the love and support that we’ve received! Thank you!!!! We will make sure to post on our instagram stories once baby girl has arrived! The name? Well, that’s still brewing as well 🙂

To all our our partners who give monthly, annually or drop amounts into our account at the perfect time- thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Even as we spend these next few months having the baby and doing lots of travel time around the U.S. to visit churches, friends and partners, we want to express our gratitude for remaining faithful all the while. We understand that the world interprets this pandemic as an economical low, but the Kingdom of God account is not affected by the worlds standards. It’s quite the opposite actually. If you read the Word, you would know what I’m talking about. So we pray that as you continue to sow into the Kingdom, into our family- in return, your homes would be blessed abundantly. It’s the principle of sowing and reaping! If you would like to become a partner, we would be honored to have you join our amazing team, just follow the link and steps below.
