REMAIN

Dear Faithful Friends,Family and Ministry partners,

The last several days I’ve had a message on my heart (and I want to share it with all of you) followed by a little update of whats happening in our lives right now…

When I read in John 15, Jesus tells the parable of the vine, the vine dresser, and fruit. The disciples asked Him basic questions pertaining to the analogy that we still ask today such as: Why? Who? How? When? I challenge you to read over John 14 and 15 along with me. Jesus begins with naming who is who and proceeds to say that if we do not bear FRUIT, we will be removed, but if we continue to bear fruit then we will be pruned in order to produce even more fruit. [Now, if your not a believer and haven’t accepted Christ as your Savior then you can do that right now…[the bible-the Word- says that anyone who calls upon the name of Jesus, confesses with his mouth, believes in his heart and turns towards God-will be saved] All bad fruit (who call themselves christians but don’t live, abide, and live like Jesus)-will be cut off and throw into the lake of fire for eternity. He continues in verse 7 (chapter 15) “if you remain in Me, and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish in my name and it will be done for you. Key word-REMAIN.

PRUNING-which is correction for the believer, requires consistent remaining in Him. We often times can confuse “being pruned” to “being forgotten”.

As we step into a new season with our family (traveling & building up our support team before heading back to Africa), it’s easy to become overwhelmed and anxious but the Lord is reminding me to abide in Him continually. What does that even look like? Sometimes its studying the Word, a specific scripture that I meditate (chew) on, praying (fellowshipping with Him), and worshipping-which sometimes looks like my face plastered to the floor- in Awe of God. Why is this so important? Because when our eyes are on Jesus, we draw all our attention away from the business(worries)of this world and remain in complete peace. It doesn’t mean that your life will immediately become easy, but your mind will remain focused and still. A racing mind can hurt you. “Be still and know that I AM GOD”…BE STILL. I know that this short message was for someone this morning and my prayer is that you fix yours eyes on Him and as a product of that, you become extremely fruitful in Jesus name.

A little update from this month: Kids started a new year of school, Zoe turned 2 months and is now very alert, smiling/cooing and weighing over 9 pounds! We can’t believe theirs 5 kiddos in our household and their all ours! Andrey returned from Alaska safely. He was able to build new relationships and help construct a home for my brother who’s just moved with his family for ministry. Also, this month we were able to meet with several good friends and share about what we do in Zambia and how God’s been moving in Eastern Provence through our Chipata team. Our local Chipata team is doing great and leading bible studies in their very own homes for those who want more of Jesus. What a joy it is to hear from them and receive reports of their spiritual health and growth. The Holy Spirit is moving in Chipata, Zambia!

My family and I are currently heading back from Atlanta, Georgia as I write this post. We received news a few days ago that my Grandpa had a stroke and passed away in the hospital. Although my heart wished to hear his voice at least one last time, I know that He’s finally in the arms of Jesus where He’s longed to be for so many years. I’d like to think that my dad, grandma, and sister are rejoicing together in heaven. Thank you to those of you who prayed for the safety of our trip, we are an hour out from Jax!
