He sees me…

What is the one thing we desire (as those who love Jesus and seek to follow Him and His ways)? How do we identify ourselves according to what Jesus tells us we are when we are in Christ? What does it mean to be “in Christ”? These are all questions we encounter in our walk journey with the Lord. As we continue through the process of sanctification, we receive foundational revelations that make our journey that much sweeter with the Lord. TAKE THE TIME TO READ THE FULL POST-WE PRAY THAT IT MOVES YOUR HEART…

For those of you who have recently joined our team of support or have tuned into our updates/newsletters, I want to officially introduce my family and myself. We are the Gorlachev family, established as an official family in Florida at the year 2007 and are now on an exciting adventure with the Lord. Jesus called us to the nations in the beginning of 2014 and in 2017 we sold and gave away all of our belongings (besides a few boxes of random items that are still sitting in someones garage) including home, cars, furniture, and finances. Without much direction at the time, we were confident in one thing…the One who called us is certain to provide us with the next step to the path that He’s chosen for us…which explains the title of our page, “the path of the chosen” called to the call.

Why make such radical decisions and move a family of seven across the world to live in a developing country? Because God Himself, Jesus Christ, radically made the choice to leave His throne and become a mortal man in order to die for all mankind so that we could have access again to Himself-God the Father-and God the Holy Spirit. When we get that in our spirit, everything that isn’t of God-those desires fade and the only thing left is passion to love Jesus more…to do what He does…the way He does it…

My husband and I- together with our precious children Ella, Isaac, Leila, Moses, and Zoe-joined an amazing-Holy Ghost led organization called Overland Missions that has the vision to go and make disciples of all nations to those who haven’t yet been reached-the remote. We will take any road, any load, any time…whatever it takes to reach people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Bringing hope to the broken, freedom to the bonded, healing to the sick and salvation to the lost. We live in the Eastern Province of Zambia in a city(town) of Chipata where the population is a humble 500,000. Yes…Our town has half a million ppl. We are talking Zambian tribes (ngoni, bemba, vemba, cheywa, tumbuka, lenge, senga, tonga)Christians, Zambian Catholics, Zambian Muslims, Indian Muslims(5th/6th generation), and a few Hindu’s.

Andrey and I are team leads(sector managers) for the team here in EP. Our team includes a total of six adult Overland missionaries, seven children and seven local missionaries that travel and minister alongside us. Together, we travel within town and outside of town to grow disciples of Jesus Christ- teaching them about the Love of God that draws us near Him and how to follow and honor Him in our daily lives. These disciples then go out and make further disciples in towns and villages, that also go and make more disciples. The incorruptible seed is sown into hundreds of lives each day and more and more people are coming to know and fall in love with Yeshua.

UPDATE ON THE FAMILY: The kids are doing very well, both physically and emotionally. They’ve begun to really thrive here-even if they don’t have cousins or their best friends nearby. We are so proud of them and are bonding and making so many new memories with them. If we have some time, we would love to take them to Mfuwe thats just two hours away on a safari drive(or what they call “game drive” here) to take them on a small vacation from the day-to-day schooling within the home perimeters. School is going slow and steady- if your a homeschooling mom then I think you know what Im talking about lol. The littles (Moses & Zoe) are growing so quickly. Moses will be turning 5 next month (my birthday is the day after his!) and Zoe will be turning 9 months in a few days! She started to army crawl and we are slowly introducing her to cows milk.

TESTIMONIES: This past month we’ve had many amazing testimonies, but one of my favorites would have to be the time Shalom(sustain team from Batoka) and George(our partner and missionary from EP) were traveling from Kamani to Payani Village, they became hungry and asked some locals where they can find food. The locals then directed them to where they could purchase things from a shop. As they purchased their food and were waiting for it to be prepared, two men that were sitting under a tree nearby said to them, “The bible says that you should share your food with others”, and our guys agreed and broke bread with them. After they’ve finished their meal, the men that were under the tree began to tell George and Shalom about a young woman who stayed nearby in the next village, located right near the mosque- that is possessed by evil spirits-she calls on spirits that live under the ocean, sees snakes and gets quite violent. The men continued by saying that when they heard the gospel being preached from their mouths, they believed and they also believe that if the boys went to this girl, then she could be healed and believe as well. They warned that they should change their clothing because she will only accept you if you are wearing white. Well our guys reassured them that it doesn’t matter if they are wearing white or black, the evil spirits will have to leave regardless. As they approached this village called “Lufu”, they walked into this home where the girl lived and immediately the girl began to manifest. The guys asked everyone in the house to begin worshipping Jesus, and one of the guys received a word of knowledge that their were charms in the home, so they told the mom to bring the charms to them and so she did. By the grace of God the girl was set free, saved along with 25 others that were there, glory to God!

Edna and I began to minister to new group of women who were either new to the faith or weren’t believers yet. This particular day, the Holy Spirit had me preach on the divinity and Holiness of God. Laying the foundation that Yeshua God is the only God and that there are no gods besides Him. We went through many scriptures in the bible that backed up what the Holy Spirit was saying. In those few hours we had together, the fire of the Holy Spirit came in powerfully and began touching the women. Some wept uncontrollably, some couldn’t stand and fell to the ground, and others began speaking in different languages! We witnessed 14 salvations, 16 baptisms of the Holy Spirit and 2 deliverances-Praise the Lord! Afterwards we rejoiced together(the Zambian way) with heaven and gave glory to God as best we knew how!

Friends, as we share these testimonies, we want you to know that you who financially give, prayer for revival in the nations, and intercede on our families safety- you take part alongside us. Our gain is your gain, our victories are your victories! God is so faithful and provides for us by stirring up your hearts to give. Currently, we are in need funding for several large projects. If you have any(or all) of these projects to fund on your heart, I’ll attach a link below on how you can contribute to these projects financially. Just to reassure you, the platform on which we provide as a source of giving is safe-and reliable. If you still don’t feel comfortable sending via Overland page, I’ll provide our cash app below so that you can send that way. The benefit of sending via Overland page is that all funds are tax deductible.

So here are the several different projects/events:

  1. June 6-11th Eastern Province will be hosting a training event for a week to all chaplains(advisors) for the chiefs(or kings). The chaplaincy program is a program that Overland developed for the purpose of teaching the Word of God, laying the basic foundation of the gospel, and equipping the chaplains so that they can then share this to their areas and chiefs. The duration of this week impacts these men and women to withdraw from daily responsibilities to focus on the Lord, listen to Overland speakers who will bring the Word as the Holy Spirit gives, which positions them to encounter God like they’ve never had had before. Usually this event takes place at a lodge where sleeping arrangements are possible, meeting/conference room is available and food is provided. For the amount of chaplains that EP has, the cost will be between $3-$4,000 dollars USD.

2. The second need that we are seeing is a second vehicle for our family. As ministry begins to really pick up and the Lord is opening up so many doors for our team, Andrey and I are being faced with a dilemma-how will I get to ministry, grocery store, or hospital if we have an emergency and the vehicle is being used by spouse that is out of town? We didn’t see the need even a few months ago, but as our responsibilities begin to grow- so does the need. Although we are very grateful for Andrey’s dirt bike, it can’t transport more than two ppl at a time
(and I can’t manage riding myself). Andrey will be going to Batoka(12 hour drive one-way) to bring back our friends from ministry training in May, the kids and I will have no mode of transport for several days. The cost of a good vehicle that survives the incredibly tough terrain would be a Toyota Land Cruiser. Currently we own the 2008 Land Cruiser and it does so well on these roads with minimal repairs for the amount of beating it gets. The cost is about $30-$40,000 USD with import fees from Japan.

3. The Lord is pressing on Andrey and I’s heart to build and establish a base(training center) slightly outside of Chipata. This base or training center is for the purpose of expansion in raising up disciples and a hosting ground for various different events that are we host year-round- that we currently find and rent out- lodging and conference rooms for. The base would eventually be a place where we can host Overlanders, guest ministers, and family to stay several nights at as they might be traveling through or coming for a visit. Eastern Province of Zambia borders multiple countries such as Malawi, Tanzania, and Mozambique. We hope to infiltrate into those countries with the gospel in the next several years, so this would allow for us to be a resting place for many future exploits into the North of Zambia and beyond! Also, the base allows the Eastern Province team to live on the same grounds and live in community making ministry meetings, worship sessions, dinners, and even board game nights more practical and productive. Currently our EP team members are renting houses individually and spending funds with fixing up things that are constantly breaking because the structures are so old, we also waste more time cooking individually, and driving to and from worship, team church on Sundays(and for various other reasons) to our daily meetings and ministry. We believe that building a base in EP would greatly benefit the Kingdom of God -so we are asking for a BIG ask. The base-TO START-would need the land, its own bore hole/s(well water), electricity and/or solar panels, electrical/barbwire fence surrounding the premises of the property, and building expenses for a starting our house, main center/kitchen. I think this is a widely ranged field for what this would look like in finances, but estimating anywhere from $100-$200,000 dollars USD.

If you have it on your heart to fund the building project and/or the other two I’ve stated in any specific way, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have questions. We would be more than happy to schedule a zoom call with you! We need the church-body of Christ in order to accomplish all these things. If you can also please reach out to your pastors/churches/business men/women- that would be willing to fund these things, I know that we can fund this quickly. We take pride in the slavic community by the way you all are willing to come together and get a job done! Once we get permission to break ground, we would love to have you come to Zambia to join us in physical labor:)! Nothing is too big or too small for the Lord so I am confident that we can gather our funds together to get these projects done! Together- Andrey and I with our children are solemnly funded by friends and family that support us on a monthly basis. This requires trusting the Lord, staying in communication with our partners, and doing the work that is expected of us. If you would like to part-take in supporting our family,(if you don’t already do so) I’ll post a link below-click on it and follow a few steps to join the team!
