ONE STEP AHEAD

Sometimes we think we are pushing ourselves to the max that we can run, until the Lord hands us more…more to challenge our capacity, more to expose hidden weaknesses, more in order to touch the hearts you encounter each day because your raw honest self is what’s needed in the world we live in today. I write this part of our newsletter with this intension…to allow you in on what we face, express our love for the body of Christ, and to bring encouragement to your lives. We encounter struggles-sure. But in those struggles is when the Lord shows Himself greatest because His power is greater seen when the vessel He’s allowed to be poured out from is broken before Him. Surrender and brokenness is a beautiful place to be in (read my earlier post about the woman with the alabaster jar). In our strength we CAN DO NOTHING! A saturated month is an understatement, what we had and continue to have is REVIVAL!!

Family: Before our team from Livingstone came, we were able (as a family) to get away on a trip to Mfuwe where we stayed in a little house right in the middle of the remote wild life! It was amazing to see all the beautiful animals right outside our little chalet, including the elephants and hippos! Andrey and I value our children and as we watch them grow, it makes us tear up thinking that in just a few years they will begin to spread their own wings to take flight on their own journeys. Family time is crucial, ESPECIALLY when in full-time ministry. Why do I say that? Because we as teachers of the Word know that our family needs to come first before ministry. Our own children are our disciples first and foremost and we must train them up to love and revere the Lord. Thank you to all of you who made it possible for us to take several days away from home!

Team: Chaplaincy program began shortly after we returned and we spent several weeks with wonderful, selfless, nation shaking, Jesus loving people in our home. Im not going to lie, it was tough at times, but we just embraced it all and took it as a learning and growing experience. Several things took place in those few weeks…chaplains were touched and encouraged by the Lords presence, growth opportunities were presented to our EP team, and the pastoral care and country directors of Overland Missions were able to minister to our hearts. With that said, I wanted to add that the bible talks about iron sharpening iron (proverbs 27:17), and I truly believe that without the body of Christ, we become weakened in our faith walk. Im so grateful that God places pastors and spiritual leaders over one another in order to keep us accountable to each other and to our christian morals. An update on our direct EP team, Kyle- our brother and friend whose been part of the team for several years is now shifting out and into a new season in his life in the next few months. He has invested a lot into the Eastern Provence and we will miss him- we ask that you keep him and his wife in prayer as they step into this new season together. Tessa, whose engaged to be married (to Austin Fairchild) in two months is leaving to the states in a months time. Please pray for a peaceful and stress-free preparation for them as they step into this new season of life together. Also, pray that for their fundraising process to go smoothly so that they can join us back on the field very soon as family! Jackson & Cynthia Mulala(a family of 6 from the capital of Zambia) are still in their fundraising process, join us in prayer for a quick work in they’re raising of the remaining funds so that they can join us on the field here in Chipata soon. If you have it on your heart to partner up with them monthly please do so- I’ll post below on how you can do that! Last but not least, Astone and Sekelani are thriving as a family. Despite the covid restrictions-they are still managing to do ministry in their areas of influence and impacting many lives daily having revival meetings in the villages, and meeting with the queens in the Eastern Province to encourage them with the Word and a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit!

In June, we had AMT(advanced missions training) expedition team of six people that came to visit our sector. Now a “sector” is a regional-focused mission that is appointed and broken down into several teams such as Eastern Province, Northern Province, Southern Province and Western Province within the country that we are in. The purpose of this kind of expedition is to give the team an understanding of what life on the field (full-time) looks like including family life, ministry, and team. We had such a wonderful time fellowshipping with them as well as visiting and ministering in the villages we regularly visit, meeting chief Mshowa and the local leaders of the village and leading a womens conference in Chanje chiefdom. The week flew by and we were sad to let our friends go, but they are now back into their training in Livingstone and graduate August 8th! We plan on coming to the graduation with the whole family to rejoice in their finishing of the 3 month course and see the rest of our Overland Missions team at the base since we haven’t seen most of them since the beginning of January. Please pray that these beautiful/sold out people continue with the passion they carry now to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the Earth, people are waiting on them and people are waiting on us!

Currently, we’ve just welcomed an expedition team of seven people from the states (and 4 expeditions leaders) and are heading to the villages this afternoon. We’ve received permission from the chief to enter into an area and minister house to house for 6 days, pitch tents and make and eat all of our meals there. We are believing for a major move of God to touch/deliver/transform and introduce the locals to King Jesus in the area. At the very moment, there are hundreds of thousands dying from sicknesses each day and without the knowledge of Jesus. Please join us in prayer for this weeks harvest to be great! Follow our instagram account to watch updates. My instagram account is yana.gorlachev. As of right now, we have very little time to sit down and actually work on editing and posting videos on youtube, so please bear with us as we are in a very busy season of ministry. If you have it on your heart to help us on that end and are skilled with editing/making videos, reach out to me personally either by email or on instagram-thanks for your patience!

Thank you for taking part in the ministry of reconciliation! We want to always remind our supporters that you are a huge part of what is happening here and OUR wins are YOUR wins. The purpose of our newsletters is never to just send information and updates, but to remind you of the value and purpose that we all carry as the body of Christ! Thank you for your obedience to the Lord, and Thank you for you open hearts. Our family lifts each of you up in prayer that your homes and your children and your lives would reap a great harvest here on earth as well as in heaven. We love you with all our hearts! I want to always provide the opportunity for those who would like to join this awesome team of partnership building the Kingdom of God here in the remote nations. If you are moved by what our family is doing in the nations, partner up with us and become a part of whats taking place here. Our family is sold out to Jesus and our vision with Overland Missions is to reach the remote, the untouchable, and rejected people groups of the world and to introduce them to the loving Father that we have had the blessing of once meeting. When you give, you give the opportunity for us to run harder, longer and further. We pray that in return, your faithfulness will bless your finances 100 times in return!
