From the moment we arrived on Rapid 14 base in Livingstone, Zambia, I was able to let out a sigh of relief. What a journey! Not being able to rest for nearly 48 hours besides a few cat naps was a bit challenging(not to mention keeping up with our kiddos & luggage).
There’s nothing quite like coming home from a long vacation. That’s what it felt like in the states…vacation. We enjoyed being close to family and friends again, but it was time to go. Gathering a wonderful group of partners was what we went home for and 7 months later we finally were able to launch into our calling. Thank you dearest faithful partners and supporters. We wouldn’t be here in the center of God’s will if you haven’t had said yes!
A little update from this side of the globe: As we are waiting on our vehicle to arrive in Durban(estimated date is April 26th). Currently we are partnering with our team here on Overland Missions main base named Rapid 14. Although we get power outages every now and then, and the internet can’t seem to load any of my videos that I’ve manage to make ( I was actually told that Chipata gets amazing service , so hopefully we can post more pictures and videos there!) it’s still a dear place to our family with sweet familiar faces, deep discussions about the Lord, and ministry testimonies. It will only be a place we come to visit every now and then once we drive up to Chipata, so as we help serve in local projects, we treasure every bit we can of the wisdom in all the team members here, some have been on this beautiful ground for over 13 years! Andrey is helping in the shop with maintaining vehicles and building projects (as well as cooked our beloved Slavic Plov for the entire base:) . I help with organization, cleaning, and homeschooling our kiddos. Speaking of which, Ella’s luggage with homeschooling curriculum has still not arrived. Please continue to pray for a miraculous arrival in LVI airport. Good news though! Our work permits are ready for pick up, so Andrey will head to Lusaka (7 hour trip) next week. Yay!
Andrey and I will start studying for our driving test which we need to take soon, as well as a physical.
Our team members & sector managers Dalton and Rachel Moore arrived a few days ago and we were able to sit down and make a game plan for our next move into our final destination-Chipata. [Those of you who aren’t aware, Chipata is about a 16 hour drive from our current base]. The Moores see us ministering and working with the Chiefs and Queens in Chipata. The Lord has opened up huge doors to allow for us to speak into the royalty of this city and nation. Praise God! We know that we carry some of the greatest responsibility when we represent Him, so we ask for you to pray that the Holy Spirit would grant us the gift of wisdom and understanding as what to speak and when to speak. Zambia will be saved in and I believe it will start through the leadership here.
So here are some ways you can pray for us:
- arrival of Ella’s homeschool curriculum
- arrival/smooth processing of our vehicle
- safe journey on Andreys trip
- supernatural peace & joy for us and everyone back home
- financial provision
