Glorious Masterpiece

Revealing Jesus to those around us is the expression of the glory and wonder of His nature inside of us. The nature of God resembles in the heavens, in the falls, in the mountains, in the creativity of animals and flowers. But the greatest creation of the Lords, the most proud of His masterpieces was YOU. You are His prized procession. You my friend are not just wonderfully, and fearfully made, but you have been redeemed and set free and NOW you are fearfully, wonderfully made-the masterpiece of God who has placed His very Spirit inside of you in order for you be be victorious over sin, death, and disease.

These past 1.5 months, we so much enjoyed having our sweet friend and teammate- Lauren Hill from the northwest team stay in our home and be a huge instrument for the Kingdom of God for Eastern Province and for Tanzania. She managed our kiddos while we were away, ministered locally, took care of the farm animals, and ran the base- all while running the financials for their Mwinilunga Team! What a trooper she is- Thank you so much Lauren, you are truly a treasure and a valuable person of this Overland Missions family!

January was the month that we finally moved into our long awaited-renovated home! It’s just slightly out of the busy-ness of town (which we like) and the property is larger for the family as well as for the livestock. It’s a huge work-in-progress still as we install more sinks, toilets, and replace pieces of the ceiling that we removed due to damages/faulty installments. We look forward to filled homes, filled hearts, and a wonderful filled presence of the Lord within our walls. Our heart for this home is that everyone who steps inside our four walls would truly feel the tangible presence of God and walk back home knowing that they are loved and encouraged to walk out their purpose.

Our livestock has been getting more and more interesting. Yesterday we helped a mama goat deliver twins into the world. This is the third delivery in the last week! Slowly, we are learning new things. Keeping these animals happy and healthy is no easy task. If it wasn’t for the Lords grace, we would not manage to keep up. The kids are absolutely in love with this new trade we’ve adopted and are quickly learning to herd, provide proper feed, check for age and whether the animals are feeling well, and now delivery the baby goats! Speaking of tour sweet children, they’ve begun their new year of homeschool 4 weeks ago. Moses is in the beginning stages of learning to read! I can’t believe how fast he’s grown! Im so grateful that they have adapted to the lifestyle of missions kids. I can finally say that they love living in Africa (but miss their family & friends terribly of course). They are all happy/healthy and thriving. Praise the Lord for joyful children, amen?!

Two weeks ago- Andrey, myself and Zoe had the privilege to go to Tanzania and join a team of nation shakers to participate in a crusade that was held in a village of 20,000 residents. If you haven’t seen my posts on instagram, I encourage you to follow me @yana.gorlachev and stay updated. I’ll attempt to make some posts on my feed about that amazing trip. We were so blessed to serve together with some old friends from different churches around the U.S. Thank you to all those who financially supported the trip- thousands of lives were impacted and forever changed!

Last weekend we had a women’s leader conference near Cheif Empezeni’s palace where- by the order of the king and queen, 4 leaders from each village were to report to the palace for service. Their were just under 400 women (some weren’t able to come). God showed up and touched many hungry hearts and so many of the women who came, they were oppressed by demons, sick, and emotionally very hurt. They were not operating in unity saying that they would refuse to eat the food if the other ladies from different zones were to prepare it because they might get poisoned by them. Bizarre right? I also have a few pictures/videos posted on instagram/facebook. Currently working on editing a few videos which I’ll post on youtube shortly.

One more quick update on our current status (for those who are curious). We are headed for a 5 day drive to Mozambique with our family, and overland family who are Africa-side currently. It’s a time for meetings, planning, and time to simply enjoy a coconut milk on the beach! Please pray for us as we drive, cross borders, and all the fun stuff that entails. We were involved in a slight car pile up today which damaged our front end of the vehicle so thats a bit unfortunate. Praise God, no one was hurt.
